Gender Fluidity
I’m sitting at this computer wondering to myself, what am I going to name this thing? I wanted to call this project Facets but I felt like even that was too rigid of a word to encompass the theme of gender fluidity. Throughout this shoot I wanted to convey a spectrum of human emotion. A continuum as it were, and that’s how I got the name.
The shoot’s not just about a gender fluid experience, but a human one. The real goal is to humanize a non-binary experience and help express this idea that change is my constant. I wanted to show people that there’s more than one way to carry yourself; that all of those different methods are still you. There’s no booklet on how to live life, and one way is no better than the other. You are who you are regardless of the changes you go through, and in a sense you’ll never lose yourself, and you’ll never lose your way.
